Training and Employment of World Heritage Site Guides

World Heritage Site Guides capable of guiding and deepening the visitors' understanding of the outstanding universal value of the Fujisan World Heritage Site, as well as appropriate preservation and management methods, are currently being appointed.

Training courses for World Heritage Site Guides are being conducted since 2012, targeting volunteer guides (nature, sightseeing, bilingual) employed in the prefectures of Yamanashi and Shizuoka and those interested in becoming World Heritage Site Guides.

As of 2015 in Shizuoka Prefecture, 247 people have completed the course and are currently guiding visitors at asset sites and surrounding facilities.

As of 2015 in Yamanashi Prefecture, 47 people have completed the course and are currently guiding visitors at the Yamanashi Fujisan Visitor Center.
